Participles is a 2-hour special course held in 2 sessions that demonstrates quite clearly how two verb forms, namely Ving and V3 can function differently in a sentence. The name Participles is actually a misnomer as the subject covers much more than its name. At Scilang, another verb form, V0, is also elaborated on meticulously as it pertains directly to the subject. Students are often amazed at seeing a gerund and a past participle function in active and passive formations as because, when/ while, participle, verbal, after...etc. Moreover, they are taught at Scilang every formation of Participles, whether it be long or short, for full accuracy, fluency and flexibility in English. Participles are practiced orally. Sentences, combined and shortened, are made flexible and easy to say. More than 100 sentences are combined during the lesson in a serial manner to establish a firm knowledge of the subject.
